Makeup Direct
Makeup Direct was founded by Moyra Parker in 2004.
Makeup Direct started out of a small briefcase of cosmetics consisting of a few eyeliners, foundations, and lipsticks. Moyra sold these products to family and friends and later extending sales to corporate companies such as law firms and banks around the Auckland area. Moyra then went on to converting one of her rooms in her home into a boutique chemist which opened during the weekends.
After discovering there was a need for top brand cosmetics at low prices, Moyra started venturing into the community and to have sales during the weekends at various community halls throughout Auckland and as far down as Hamilton. As the demand for the cosmetics grew so did the demand for a permanent location for the many loyal customers that followed the shows around Auckland.
Makeup Direct opened its first store in Newmarket in March 2006. Six months later in September 2006, Makeup Direct opened their second store in 14 Darby Street, Auckland City. The second store opened with a new logo and the launch of their new online shopping website.
MAKEUP DIRECT’s secret to success is simply Customer focused. “Listen carefully and stay focused to each customer’s needs and be honest and genuine with them while providing the best products at the best price”.
You will often see Moyra Parker in one of the Auckland stores serving and helping staff and customers as she likes to take every opportunity to be in touch with her staff and customers.
