Moyra Parker - General Manager
To be honest, cosmetics wasn't an area of work I ever thought I would be in. It come up simply while on a visit back to New Zealand (I was working overseas in my family business) when I was shopping for my necessities (powder, mascara and gloss) and for the first time I actually looked at the price of cosmetics and was amazed at the high cost of cosmetics in New Zealand. I never really realised it before because I guess I had nothing else to compare it with. Upon my return to New Zealand I decided I would make it my mission to continue this search, and bring to the people of New Zealand the opportunity to purchase quality cosmetics at cheaper prices. Well that was back in 2004, and now today apart from our online shopping we have two cosmetics stores both located in Auckland (we do plan to expand around NZ in the future so watch this space!).
I totally understand that not everyone knows what an eye primer does, or how to apply a blush (or what a blush even is!) and that's ok with us because that's what we are here for. I have experienced the feeling of walking into a department store and being told that they do not stock a foundation dark enough for my skin and then leaving the store in total embarrassment. That is why it is extremely important to me that I have staff that are caring, knowledgeable and respectful to each other and our customers. My stores are for normal everyday people just like myself and my own sisters, I want to make sure you are welcomed and made to feel comfortable, and of course where you will find all the cosmetics you want and need at prices that are attainable for everyone's budget. It is also important to me that our staff are truly passionate about customer services and cosmetics. Nothing truly excites me more in my stores then seeing my staff and I interacting with our customers, helping them select beautiful products which make them feel and look absolutely stunning. I love it when my customers try new products and new colours then look at themselves in the mirror and say "is that really me" and then I say "yes it is" - I love it!

Jessie - Westgate Manager 
I'm Jessie Wharewaka. I've lived in Auckland all my life and I have been the Makeup Direct Westgate Store Manager since it opened in March 2009.
What I love about working at Makeup Direct is the interaction with customers and helping everyday women find exactly what they need and giving them the best service I can. I work with an awesome team who all are passionate about “everything makeup”. This is really important to me because it is vital to my success as a manager to work with a team that is passionate about what they do.
I have several favourite products at MUD which I use every day. I really care about what I put on my skin so it is important to me that the ingredients are natural and non-harming. My favourites include Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara for its WOW factor, Colorevolution Mineral Foundation and Blusher for its natural look and beneficial properties and Sure White Green Tea Active Gel as it really works to reduce acne scaring!
Outside of work my interests include family and friends. They play a very huge part in my life. I also love road trips, bbq’s, summer time, going to the beach and listening to music.

Ruth - Darby Street Manager
Hi! 
My name is Ruth and I have recently become the manager of our Darby Street store. I have not been married long and have a divine 2 year-old who really keeps me busy on my days off.
I have an enormous passion for everything to do with makeup and I love trying new things and the latest trends. I am due to finish my training at The Makeup School in two weeks time and I am looking forward to putting the things I have learnt into practise.
The things I love most about my job are helping people find products that will work for them and their lifestyle. I love inspiring people to try new things, so I have the most fun when helping people to select makeup for exciting events and then sharing application expertise for their new items.
My absolute favourite things at Makeup Direct are the entire Colorevolution range and Isabelle Dupont mascaras. Colorevolution's 100% natural products last all day and give perfect cover while the exquisite range of eyeshadows leaves you wanting more.
